Meet Rona

Rona Kant developed her passion for painting when she moved from Glasgow to the Highlands in 2000. Inspired by the majestic surroundings of the Cairngorms National Park, she started to paint in acrylics to capture the light and convey the intense colours that are evident in her work today.

Prior to her move north, Kant worked as an interior designer, having graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art with a first class honours degree in interior design and then gaining a Master of Fine Arts in Furniture Design and Technology from Brunel University. It is this background in design that has helped her achieve the distinctive style she is known for.

She took up painting as a part-time career at the start of 2016 and has spent much of her time since working on the many commissions she receives and preparing for exhibitions. She has exhibited in various shows throughout Scotland and her work is held in private collections throughout the
UK, Europe, USA and Canada.
